## From Security to Facility Operations: SQX Annual Tech Day — How AI Is Put to Work

Security and facility operations have long been seen as "back office" and "cost centres". But as cameras begin to understand what they see, as equipment starts reporting faults on its own, and as patrol records no longer need to be copied out by hand, both fields are being redefined.

At this SQX Tech Day we are devoting the whole day to one thing: **taking technology out of the slide deck and onto the floor.**

## Why It's Worth the Trip

This is not a one-way product launch. The programme deliberately leaves plenty of time to walk around and talk:

* **Tech Corner tour** — real equipment, hands-on demos and real Q&A, not display boards
* **Product demo tour** — runs alongside the coffee break, so you can see and try everything
* **Panel discussion** — industry peers and technology providers in one room, talking about the real obstacles to deployment

If you are evaluating AI, or have already adopted it but are stuck at the "pilot done, then nothing" stage, most of the day's value will come from the conversations in the second half rather than the presentations in the first.

## Panel Topic (in Mandarin)

> **What challenges and opportunities does AI face in security and facility operations?**

Scheduled after the second session, the panel brings the day to a close. Expected themes include:

**Challenges**

* The cost of integrating legacy systems with new platforms is often higher than the AI model itself
* The tug-of-war between false-alarm rates and staff trust — a system people can't be bothered to look at is no system at all
* Data governance and privacy compliance, especially in busy public and commercial premises
* The gap between a proof of concept (PoC) and full deployment

**Opportunities**

* Moving from "reviewing footage after the fact" to "early warning and immediate response"
* Shifting equipment maintenance from scheduled inspections to condition-based and predictive maintenance
* Automating repetitive work such as guard patrols, reports and work orders, freeing people for tasks that need judgement
* New operational metrics that emerge once security data and facility operations data are connected

---

## Registration Notes

**Advance registration is required. Seats will be reserved based on SQX's final written confirmation.**

In other words, registering does not by itself reserve a seat — please wait for, and keep, the written confirmation from SQX. Seats are limited, so we recommend registering early.

## Suggestions by Role

| Your role | Recommended sessions |
| -------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Facility / property operations manager | Second session + panel discussion |
| IT / systems integration | Tech Corner, product demo tour |
| Procurement / decision-makers | First session + panel discussion |
| On-site management team | Product demo tour (hands-on workflows) |

---

## Closing Thoughts

The most valuable part of AI in security and facilities is rarely the flashiest feature. It is the detail that saves the night-shift team two extra rounds, or takes three hours off the monthly report.

Those details are exactly what we want to talk about on the day.

**Register now, and look out for the written confirmation from SQX.**
